CPV Ag – Parvovirus Antigen Rapid Test
Parvovirus is one of the most dangerous infections in puppies and the most common serious cause of diarrhoea. This rapid test detects parvovirus antigen in a fresh stool sample from your dog — at home, using the same immunochromatographic method as the tests used in veterinary clinics.
Accuracy – manufacturer validation
Compared with PCR as the reference method, on 300 samples:

When is the test recommended?
- Sudden watery or bloody diarrhoea
- Vomiting together with loss of appetite
- Lethargy, fever, no interest in play
- As a screening test when a new puppy arrives
- For breeders, before a litter goes to new homes
- When taking in an unvaccinated dog or one with unknown vaccination status
How does it work? Three steps
-
1
Collect a fresh stool sample with the swab provided, or take a rectal swab. No invasive procedure is needed.
-
2
Swirl the swab in the buffer solution at least ten times, then add 3 drops (approx. 90 µl) to the sample well of the cassette.
-
3
Read the result after 5–10 minutes. Perform the test at room temperature (15–30 °C).
Reading the result

Positive
Parvovirus antigen detected. Even a faint T line is a positive result. Seek veterinary care immediately — take the cassette with you.

Negative
No antigen detected. Virus shedding can be intermittent, so if symptoms persist, repeat the test within 2–3 days or contact your vet.

Invalid
No control line, so the result cannot be interpreted. A result read after 15 minutes is also invalid — a line that appears later may be visible, but it is not a true positive.
When should you test again?
- 2–3 weeks after treatment, as a follow-up to confirm recovery
- When a new puppy arrives, even if it has no symptoms
- If symptoms persist but the test was negative — within 2–3 days
- More often in multi-dog households during high-risk periods
